
Organization at a Glance
Rupganj Upazila Protibandhi Unnayan Parishad is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Narayanganj district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 19 February 2003. Since it started involving 33 persons with disabilities with support from CRP, the organization now has a total of 963 members, among them 575 and 380. The organization implements its activities, ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities.
According to the organization's bylaws, there are 963 members in its General Committee, and 09 are in the Executive Committee. The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of the men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.
Besides, the organization is striving to partner with mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity building and technical assistance.
